For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalms 139: 13&14

Your 1st SMILE!

Since this is your baby book, I wanted to make sure I note your milestones! This evening, you and I were sitting on the toilet (classy, I know) watching Parker take a bath when you.... SMILED! You've smiled a few times in your sleep or from gas but tonight was the first reactionary (I think I made up that word) smile! I had you on my lap, talking to you and you grabbed my hair (a new favorite thing of yours to do!) and tugged *really* super-infant strength hard! I sort of gasped because it HURT and you thought it was hilarious! You gave me a big grin and I got so excited that I scared you trying to get you to do it again so then you started crying. Umm... I could eat you up, you are just so precious!

Hidden in my Heart Doll

Guess what!? I happened to be on facebook (shocker, I know) and saw that the lady who makes Hidden in My Heart Dolls had just listed a new custom doll. She made the sweet blond doll that I won in a blog giveaway a while back. We just love her but she came as is and well... you just don't look like her! Every little girl deserves a special doll! I figured I'd buy it for you now so you grow up with "her." Maybe she'll be your lovie! I just love the concept of these dolls because they have a sweet little heart sewn on the inside with a special message. Your message will be your name, birth date and a verse.

Originally, I wanted to put the "For this child I prayed verse"  in the doll's heart BUT I changed it last minute. I think you are SO special and you aren't even 5 weeks old! You know what many people have told me about you? That you're beautiful and they love your red hair but you'll hate it. I pray not. You are so beautiful and your hair just makes you even more special! You remind me daily of my sweet daddy (your poppi) and your mimi (poppi's mom). They both have red hair and are two of the MOST special people in my life. I pray they are in yours too! They have big personalities and big hearts. I hope you follow in their foot steps and learn to embrace your beauty, inside and out!

SO, the verse in your "Avery" doll's heart was handpicked with lots of thought, just for you! Psalm 139: 13&14

"You created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful. I know that full well."

I pray you learn to love yourself just as God created you, fearfully and wonderfully! Now we've got to work on a wardrobe for your Avery doll to match yours! :) I can't wait to receive her and take your picture with her! :)

1 month stats

Mommy wins a venti Starbucks! Nana and mommy had a bet on your weight. Nana guessed 8lbs 11 oz. Mommy guessed 8lbs 13 oz. Guess what.... you're 8lbs 13oz! That's exactly the 50th percentile for weight. You go, girl! You're also 21 inches which is the 50th percentile for height. I wonder if you'll hover right at 50th percentile like your brother has. Perfectly average size which makes it super easy to clothes shop! You do; however, have the tiniest head! 14 inches around which is the 10th percentile! Little peanut head, like your nana!

You got your 2nd Hep B shot today. I appreciated the nurse coordinating your bandaid. Brother knew what was about to happen and started saying "Oh no! Oh no!" and hovered in the corner. Smart kid.

I forgot to mention that you now prefer Nuk paci's over the Soothies. We still use both but you keep the Nuk's in better. You LOVE your paci and I appreciate you no longer using me as a paci, if you know what I mean!
Today you got your 1st antibiotic. It broke my heart to have to give it to you since no 1 month old should be sick but I couldn't take listening to you struggle to breathe anymore! You weren't a big fan and spit most of it out (landing on your car seat strap and staining it pink). Thank goodness for spray n wash!

You've been a bit fussy today due to the congestion and vaccine yuckies. You finally let me put you down after Baby Bjorning you around the house for a while and you know what made you calm down? The show "What Not to Wear." haha. I'll be DVRing it for you if that's what it takes! Future fashionista? I'd be ok with that! :)

Love you, Avie Bug!

1 month old!

Miss. Avery Madison is 1 month old today!
Hanging out on the boat with nana
Miss Avie bug was NOT excited to be taking her 1 month photos
The only way I could get her to take this picture of her NOT screaming, was to give her the paci... oh well!
Brother/sister love! I think they're starting to look alike!

Time has FLOWN. I can't believe you're already one month old! You are beautiful and SO very precious. Tomorrow is your 1 month check up and I bet you're about 8lbs 13oz. That's my guess. I'll post the official stats tomorrow! For your 1 month birthday, we went to nana and poppi's and played on the lake. You napped in your tent with your bouncer seat and fan while brother swam. I hope you're a fish like him because we're a water loving family!

You sleep in about 4 hour increments at night and about 2 hour increments during the day. When you're hungry, you have about 20 seconds to get milk in your mouth before you melt down. It's hard not to laugh. I have a feeling you may be a bit dramatic. Girlfriend... you can cry... loud! You're fussy on and off from about 4pm until about 8pm. I know this is normal but hope it subsides soon since it's tough to make dinner and get Parker bathed, fed and to bed all while holding you. You've smiled a few times. I'd like to think it's a real smile and not a gas one but I can't be sure. I accept all smiles and coos as you expressing your undying love for me! haha

You and your brother are my heart beats. I am loving every minute of being a mom of two, even the ones where Parker is fussing, you need to be fed, chores need to be done and the dogs need to go out. It's a balancing act that we're figuring out as we go... sometimes less then eloquently but we're managing! Love you with all my heart, baby girl!
